In June 2013, we took Clan Line to Outokumpu's steelworks, near Sheffield, for three days, to celebrate the centenary of stainless steel.
We were there to haul demonstration freight trains, weighing about four hundred tons, up a one in ninety climb, for local dignitries, school children, and staff.
We were made very welcome, by Outokumpu and DBS. These are some of the photographs, and a video, that I took of the event.

In October 2009, we took Clan Line to Ropley, to make use of
the Mid Hants' wheel drop, so that we could make some repairs to
the bogey. These are some of the photographs that I took on this
occasion.

On Sunday 1st June 2008, I visited the delightful Mid Suffolk
Light Railway, at Brockford. It was a very friendly and relaxed
railway, and I shall go again. These are the photographs that I
took, all with permission.

In the autumn of 2002, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to go to China
to see the last standard gauge working steam mainline in the world - the Ji Tong
Railway, which includes the Jing Peng Pass. The tour was arranged by the Railway
Magazine, and organised by Steam in Paradise. As
well as the Ji Tong Railway, we also visited several other systems that still used steam.
